Dear Elizabeth Zimmermann, what would we do without you!

I have had the flu for the last dew days, and between a pounding headache, an endless runny nose, bouts of coughing, and just feeling plain horrible, I almost did not knit.
Notice I said almost... Because what is better when one is sick than a little bit of thoughtless knitting. The doctor prescribed plenty of rest and a good Elizabeth Zimmerman sweater!
I followed the doctor's orders to the letter. I put my hands on some great 220 superwash, measured my oldest son, thought up a very simple pattern for the yoke, with the tiny bit of brain I had left, and voila.
The sweater is finished, I am almost completely back to normal, and I credit Elizabeth Zimmermann entirely for my prompt recovery!
If you have not knit this very simple yoke sweater yet, you can find it Knitting Without Tears, by Elizabeth Zimmermann.

My very favorite sweater pattern, of which I have made, perhaps 20 since I found the pattern years ago. Yours is especially handsome!

Sorry you've felt ill, but how amazing to be able to knit the whole jumper and design a yolk when feeling yukky. I feel very amateurish! mind you if I didnt spend so much time reading everyone elses blogs and drooling over their patterns and yarns!!!!!LOL

Re: Petit Chou
Did I do something wrong or is there a # error on the first row of the neck on the front? I believe I have 51 stitches for the front designed area. But the first neck row says to k1, p21, BO 8, p21, k2tog. That adds up to having 53 stitches.
Thank you.

Caroline,
Mary and I had lunch yesterday and we both had noticed that you haven't posted any new blog entries. We hope that everything is going OK for you and your family. Hopefully you are just really busy with your new business or maybe writing a book or something else fun. We just hope you are OK and want you to know that we are keeping you in our thoughts.

I'm a grandma and just now learning to knit. I've read EZ's books and what a wonderful woman. I was intimidated at her sweaters (with all that detail), but the one you knit with the design you used could be 'doable' for me - maybe.
Anyway, it is lovely and I'm glad I happened onto your blog. Your son is so handsome, I know you are a wonderful mother.
