"Petit Chou" the Baby Outfit is Finished

Here is the new baby set "Petit Chou" (meaning cream puff, and pronouced shoe), finished, pressed, ready to be gift wrapped and sent all the way to Jerusalem, to meet my new little cousin.

The whole project takes a couple of days to knit, and is a wonderful baby shower gift. I will post the pattern as a free pattern tomorrow.

Hi Caroline - This pattern is wonderful! I don't have any "known" babies at the moment, but I am going to save it for the future. I have a couple of older nephews/nieces that may provide, eventually!

My mom loved the Mother's Day slippers - and she keeps talking about them! She came up to Petaluma that weekend, and after she opened them, she put them on and then just kept staring at her feet with a big smile!

Thanks again for sharing that pattern - it was a huge success! It was also quite nice that it wasn't too consuming, and could be knit in a short time...can't wait until I hear of a baby I can knit this latest pattern for!

Hope all is well in Jamaica Plain -
Stephanie

Hi Stephanie,

I am so glad your mother loved the slippers.
My mother loved hers as well. She said they were great for air travel too.
Thank you for the post in response to the Petit Chou. Aren't baby knits the best?

That is such a sweet baby set! I'm going to cast on for the slippers as soon as I'm done with my current baby sweater.

Thanks for posting the patterns.

Hi,

Thanks for your warm response to the pattern. I have not worked any other sizes of the pattern. Time permitting, I might.
Have fun knitting the project, I hope your neighbor loves it.

Happy knitting.

Oh, my. This is so beautiful. I'm glad I have a couple babies to knit for. This is definitely next for baby knits. I may even have the perfect yarn. Time to swatch!

Hey, that looks great. I have a friend who's due in Nov. I will mark this and put it in my mental file when she tells me what she's having then I can choose the colors. Great job. :)

Hi Caroline! Thank you for posting such a lovely pattern! I've only been knitting for less than three months, but I started this a couple weeks ago because I HAD to make it! (I'm learning a lot while I go!) But, I have a question: My front woven section is pretty tight, so it is less wide than the back. I'm hoping this won't cause a problem. The bigger issue is that the pattern says the back piece should measure 3 1/2" from the peach before binding anything off. This would make the back 1 1/2" longer than the front. Is this right? Or should I just make it 2"?
Thanks for the help and thank you for providing such a gorgeous pattern!

Hi Caroline - I hate to mentioned this as it really isn't important to the pattern. BUT "Chou" in French means "Cabbage". It is an adorable outfit and will make.

Thank you
