I love the name you chose for the patterns. Not to add to your work, but are you going to write a child version of the sweater...and maybe a grown up one too?

my sisters are going to be so happy with this!! between the three of us we've got five american girl dolls (over 15 years of collecting anyway) and not many of the clothes so this is great :)

My Grandma was excited to find this pattern. She says: You've made my day! Thanks so much for this pattern.

Love the pattern. I used larger yarn, I guess, because it ended up large enough for a baby sweater. My grandbaby is wearing it. Adorable. Love the design down the front.

Having trouble with the pattern!!
I am on the right front section of the pattern. When I do all the BO2 at the start of each RS row, it starts cutting into the cable-like pattern as I knit closer up to the shoulder?
Hoping to finish it soon ...can't wait !

RE: AG doll RETRO CARDI pattern. I'm having the same problem as "carol h"... bind offs are cutting into the cable-like pattern.

Was there an answer to this question? Love the pattern and would like to finish asap.
Thanks.

Hi, just wanted to thank you for this great pattern. I knitted this twice for my two daughters' dolls about a year ago for Christmas presents. It was such a joy to find a pattern of this quality for 18 inch dolls - and free is amazing. Since then I've started a business designing and selling knitting and crochet patterns for 18 inch dolls and now realize how important it is to get feedback on your work so I thought this was long over due!

I'd love to post a link to your pattern on my labels Facebook page to share with my fans - with your permission and I'm happy to send photos of the cardigans I made if you'd like to see them. Very generous of you to share this for free because I now know how much work goes into each pattern.

Thanks again Keryn from Stacy and Stella

Hello!

I am writing to request an errata correction for this pattern, which I am helping a novice knitter friend work through right now. She had a similar problem to two of the commenters here on your blog page, and after throughly dissecting the pattern, I do believe there is an error in the pattern.

On the left side front, you have three rows that bind off, and then a number of rows of continued pattern with NO BIND OFFS until the neck shaping. However, on the right side front, you have the first three bind off rows, then you ask the knitter to repeat R1, R3, and R5 which contain instructions for binding off at the beginning of each row. This means the left side only loses stitches on three rows but the right side loses stitches on 11 rows. This isn't a big deal for the more experienced knitter, but novices who read this, and follow the instructions as written will find the decreases continue into the cable pattern, and looks completely different than the left.

It's a really cute pattern! I hope you're able to add the errata note to help those who are new to knitting! And I hope what I've written makes sense... please let me know if it doesn't and I can explain further!

Thanks so much!

P.S. The "email me" form on your contact page seems to be broken. I tried to send a message, but only received error messages when trying to submit there. I see this has been a problem for others too.

to the person who explained what was wrong with the other side of the sweater concerning decreasing the stitches, I want to say thank you. I had knitted all the other parts and could not figure out what was wrong. I thought it was something I had done. Thanks again. The pattern should be corrected for people like me. However, I'm thankful for the pattern and the observation you made.
