Hanspun Candy Giveaway

Yesterday's spinning was dramatic. The colors were deep, dark, and bold. Today's colors are bold, but at the same time playful, just like candy. Royal blue, periwinkle, aqua, mint green, coral, peach, and apricot...
I could eat it.

I picked 2 Wensleydale SockPixie hand-dyed rovings in compatible tones, and spun my favorite light worsted weight singles.

Spinning the Wensleydale was a lot of fun. The yarn feels  denser to me than the merino, but also like it will have a beautiful drape. About 220 yards of handspun bliss! Wouldn't it look great as the yoke of a Cerise Baby Sweater?

While spinning this yarn, I sadly realized that I would never have the time to knit everything I spin, so I am going to send it as a gift to one of you.

Just leave a comment by Monday July 12 at noon East coast time. One of you will be randomely picked and will receive this skein as a gift.

Now back to working on my secret project...

I would so love to win this.

Spinning is something, that I dream of doing one day. I have a drop spindle ~ I'm not too patient, so you can probably guess that I have put the spindle away for now.

Hopefully, in the new future, I can get it back out and give it a go again.

Wow, I am the first to leave a comment..!
First, let me say that I really love the colors in your yarn, handspun often looks a bit more rustic (also nice), but yours looks so yummy and fresh!
Second, I would be very happy if I could spin lovely yarn like that!

This really is beautiful yarn -- I don't spin and haven't actively watched a Tour de Fleece until this year so all this is new to me and very exciting! It's fabulous watching the colours appear and the yarn being created -- brava! :-)

I just started knitting the cerise sweater today! It's lovely! I was at a Farmer's Market in Edmond, OK this morning, and a woman was spinning rovings from a local farmer into lace weight yarn for a shawl she is making. Now, I'm thinking about spinning my own! We have a lot of alpaca farms in our state...

Gorgeous! I would be honored to take the time to design and knit something with this. . . . (or maybe even use one of your designs - which would certainly be fitting!) And as I don't spin, I don't share the problem you have of not having the time to knit everything you spin! (ah - No. I haven't started the Cerise baby sweater yet. . . . soon!)
